EnCore Manufacturing Ltd. is a Vancouver, BC-based contract manufacturer that provides premium manufacturing and logistics services. Founded on the principle of delivering clean Energy products to the market as the Core business focus, EnCore is establishing production capability for the clean technology sector by bringing together lean manufacturing, operations planning and supply chain management.
The inception of EnCore came when many Canadian companies concede manufacturing to low-wage countries. These companies managed to reduce product cost by using cheaper labour and lower operational overhead by discarding previously underutilized resources. Not only does this necessitate high volume of standardized products, it adversely exposes them to potential loss of intellectual property (IP), risks to supply chain, and carries significant hidden costs to manage remotely. In addition, many smaller firms and technology start-up companies do not have access to manufacturing expertise and may not run their facilities successfully. Simply put, there is a need for effective and cost competitive local manufacturing.
Contrary to popular belief that manufacturing in North America is dead, EnCore sees opportunity with the changing nature of the global competitive environment. In essence, EnCore is leveraging its manufacturing knowledge and adaptability to provide value and innovative solutions to customers. Manufacturing in North America is indeed alive and well.
